Globe cages
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the grand spectacle of the global cages. Where the borders and boundaries, that we have created for ourselves, trap us in our own little worlds. As Banksy once said, 'We can't do anything to change the world until capitalism crumbles. In the meantime we should all go shopping to console ourselves.' So let us take a look at the cages we have built for ourselves and find some humor in the absurdity of it all.
The global cages are the lines we draw on a map, the walls we build to separate us from one another. They are the ideologies and beliefs that we cling to, that trap us in our own echo chambers. They are the systems and structures that keep some of us in privilege and power, while others are left behind. And yet, we continue to build these cages, to trap ourselves and others, convinced that they are necessary for our survival.
But as we look at the global cages, let us not forget the humanity that lies within them. The individuals trapped in their own systems and structures, just like us. And let us find the humor in the absurdity of it all, as we continue to navigate and make sense of the world. For as Banksy reminds us, in the meantime, we might as well go shopping.
